Well the retrieval went well yesterday-- they got 5-- but only 4 were viable. Of the 4, 3 were an M2 and one was an M1. I'm not exactly sure what that means- but I am told it's good. Of all 4, 3 fertilized. So 3 is a pretty good ratio when starting from 4 total. Not going to complain. We go back on Friday to do the transfer- but overall we're Ok with the number and the amount that fertilized. Better than last time and we did good then. I haven't started to think about the whole miscarriage thing much yet-- but it's lurking-- and if this goes well I'll expect a slight freak out at week 8 or 9 ... we have plenty of time for that.

Anyhow, I found a cool chef service that cooks and delivers meals to you so I ordered some for the week for us to give a try.
It was pretty good- and it wasn't all that expensive when I think about buying all the stuff to make the meals- I think we may keep using them for awhile-- I could use a break on cooking and Hubby isn't inclined to learn so it's that or pizza. I don't know how everyone else does it- and it could just be the hormones but I feel like I keep track of all the stuff with the house and the food and the cleaning... and I work full time too. I am worn out! So here is to taking a break.

I'll let you know if anything comes up at the transfer but I suspect that it will be pretty normal.

Good job on those embies! So glad so many turned out well! That is a really good ratio of fertilization. I'm not sure what M1 & M2 are either - maybe they are "maturity" ratings?

When do you transfer?

Great news! Hopefully this 2ww will end like the last one - but since you're forewarned and forearmed, the next month or two will be much better.

The chef service sounds like a great idea. Definitely a time to take it easy.

Ellie - congrats on your three magnficent egges - pretty good for the woman who had how many cancellations? I am so glad they have found a protocol that is working for you.

Good luck with transfer xx

Good news that you got three embryos - excellent fert. rate.

Fingers crossed here, Ellie.

Oooh, such a good idea; I'd love to do that someday... *dreaming*

My RE always stresses taking it completely easy after the transfer, so having a chef service sounds like a perfect way to do that.

Hope all goes well on Friday!

Congratulations on those embryos. Good luck with your transfer -- I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier. I too often wonder about the effect of all these meds. Luckily I've been pretty healthy most of my life, so I haven't ever had to do much more than the occassional antibiotic or over the counter remedy. That said, everyone seems to treat birth control pills as totally benign these days. However, I had a lifetime of regular periods, both on and off the pill (but frankly, mostly off). However, when I went off BCP to try and get pregnant my first time around, after 5 years on the pill, I didn't get my period for 5 months and then I needed progesterone to get things started. I just don't believe it had no effect, and I was actually on for a shorter period of time than many women I know!

Well, good luck and thanks again for stopping by.

Ellie, I am hoping so hard for you this cycle for your "happy ending." You are on the right track with a good fert rate... I'll keep hoping that all is well and that you had a successful transfer today!!

The chef service sounds wonderful... just what "the doctor" ordered!

Just found your blog. So you know, not all of us keep it together while going through fertility treatments. My home is generally a pigsty... I started getting grocery delivered, and sending out our laundry. That helped. But don't feel like it's just you... it's not.

Good luck with the transfer!
