Well this will possibly be my last post before I go on holiday. A much much needed holiday involving pool side service and lovely food. Sunshine, warm weather and no cell phone. No email. No internet. No work. Can you hear the soft waterfall and soothing music in the background? Yeah, I could use a break.

When we come back I hop back on the bus and start another cycle. Mostly I am feeling ok, but I have to admit that the sting of the last cycle is still with me again. If your doctor's staff messed up your meds- would you trust them again completely? Could you go through another cycle with them and not feel like you needed to double check everything they said? Yeah, I am thinking about this one too...

Mmmm... poolside service. Enjoy your vacation. I hope you come back rested and refreshed.

Yup - I would be triple-checking them every step of the way. Which might not be that much more tiring than usual, considering my capacity to invent, if necessary, things to worry about. I can see you've got some thinking to do over this one, and luckily plenty of poolside, waterfall-accompanied time in which to do it.

But of course, we hope you spare some time for more relaxing thoughts, too.

Ellie, you definitely need and deserve a holiday. I hope you have a truly cleansing and renewing time.

I'm not sure if I could trust my doctor's staff if they had messed up to that level. I obsess over stuff anyway, so this would probably put me over the edge. What did they say about the mix-up? Just a "we're sorry" or did they offer you anything? I still can't believe what you went through.

Not sure what I would do. I am a stress case by nature but when it came to my cycle I gave complete trust and control over to the docs and nurses at our clinic because everything I had done myself so far wasn't working. It's a tough place to be. once trust has been broken, it's hard.

I think it's important that the PA acknowledge her mistake and apologize and that everyone else is aware of it so it doesn't happen again. And for peace of mind, I WOULD double check and question - it'll keep everyone on their toes.

Have a relaxing vacation! I am jealous since I could use some poolside activity myself. =)

Enjoy the holiday!

Do you have an alternative to going back to them?

Enjoy your vacation, sounds like you need it. Just got back from one and it has done wonders

It would be difficult to trust after such a huge mess up. My advice would be to everything multiple times. Unfortunately human error occurs, it would just be nice to know there was a process in place in case it does.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

Ellie,
I hope you have an amazing time on your holiday! Enjoy each moment and come back refreshed.

Ever since my current RE's staff screwed up something on my treatment, I've questioned everything. I recheck and ask a lot of questions. I think that's a normal response when you lack some of the faith you originally had. I was really shocked when I read about what happened to you. But, when it comes down to it, a bet every clinic has these kinds of screw ups. It's human nature to make errors. It just shows that we have to be on top of everything and informed. I'll be posting my complete protocol w/ details on my blog so that everyone can help me see if there are any discrepancies or potential mistakes.

Your RE should feel very poorly that this happened and I hope he's expressed this to you.

Enough of that- enjoy you break. You'll be back in the game before you know it and can worry about the details then.

Enjoy your vacation... mmmmm warm weather and good food...

I would not be able to trust my clinic either after they've screwed up once - I'd be constantly checking and re-checking. Which totally sucks.

I hope they have been suitably apologetic, that's all I can say. I hope the holiday was great.

If the doubt persists, I would consider a new doc. Trust matters here. Good Luck with that decision. Changing is hard too, so I can see the dilemma!

Enjoy your break . . . it sounds wonderful!
